Optimal pricing is a challenging problem for several reasons. One is the complex structure of the price waterfall, which often includes multiple variables such as list prices, discounts, and special offers that need to be optimized.
We will try to answer questions that every merchant faced:
- Does a particular promotion generate an additional profit or it would be better to disable it?
- What is the optimal discount value for a certain group of products?
- Is it possible to harvest additional profits or meet turnover targets by creating new promotions, and what would be the parameters of these promotions?
- What are the factors affecting sales.

Apache Spark is famous framework for working with Big Data. In this presentation we will cover some background about main concepts of Apache Spark and Machine Learning. During the presentation we will review common machine learning and statistical algorithms which are implemented in Spark. Also we will talk about how to use Spark to build scalable machine learning pipelines with Spark MLLib.
